Journalism Complex
The Journalism Complex in the Umphrey Lee Center features the Pederson Broadcast Studio, a state-of-the-art broadcast facility and engineering room; the David Kelleher Family Newsroom, multipurpose facility with a bank of computers, a conversation space, and a modern standing news desk; three digital classrooms equipped with cable television, multi-media projection, and Mac computers with Final Cut Pro and Adobe software; and two conference rooms.
The Daily Update plays hourly on SMU-TV and portions of its content are published on SMU's student-run online news site “.” In addition to The Daily Update, students produce a weekly sports show called Press Pass and a weekly Spanish language news show called Al Punto.
