    Faculty Research Day & Spotlight Presentations

    The Office of Research & Innovation kicked off with welcoming remarks, a keynote plenary presentation, and faculty research spotlights.

    The opening session featured a plenary talk from Dr. Devanand K. Shenoy (IBM Semiconductors) on Opportunities for Microelectronics to Enable AI Capabilities for National Security and the Private Sector.

    Faculty from across 51³Ô¹ÏÍøalso presented brief research spotlights highlighting innovative work in physics, engineering, and data arts, followed by open discussion with presenters.

    Cayuse Human Ethics Workshop

    Date: Monday March 23, 2026

    Time: 2:00 PM

    The Research Integrity & Compliance (RIC) team hosted a workshop to introduce researchers to the new Cayuse Human Ethics (IRB) module. Following the workshop, RIC hosted a social hour with light refreshments, where attendees connected with the team, asked questions one-on-one, and won a few prizes.

    The Dallas Launch Party celebrating Swirl & Vortex: Collected Poems by Larry Levis occurred on Monday, March 23, from 7–10 p.m. Hosted by 51³Ô¹ÏÍøEnglish's Project Poética, this event featured readings by David St. John, Kevin Prufer, Mai Der Vang, and L.A. Johnson.

    Graduate and Postdoc Poster Sessions, organized by the Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, took place in two sessions: 

    • Session 1, for graduate students in Dedman College programs, took place from 9am-12pm
    • Session 2, for graduate students in all other programs and postdoctoral scholars, took place from 2-5pm

    The Technology Transfer & Commercialization team hosted two 1.5‑hour sessions exploring on how to translate research into positive social impact and develop a start‑up to generate revenue.

    Sessions include:

    • 9:00 -10:30 AM | Faculty inventors discussed taking discoveries from Lab to Market: Research and the Entrepreneurial Mind
    • 10:45 AM - 12:30 PM | Entrepreneurs took attendees on an investor’s journey: Commercializing Your Discoveries

    MFA Qualifying Exhibition: Meet the Artists

    The MFA Qualifying Exhibition: Meet the Artists occurred on Friday, March 27, 2–4 p.m. The Division of Art’s interdisciplinary program presented the 2026 MFA Qualifying Exhibition, Ecology: Where Connections Form, featuring exhibiting artists Alicia Parham, Karina Ramirez, and Jillian Whitney.
