Call for Speakers
Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10, 2026
51³Ô¹ÏÍøMethodist University (SMU) Human Trafficking Data Research (HTDR) Project welcomes you to submit a proposal to speak at the 2026 51³Ô¹ÏÍøHuman Trafficking Data Conference with the theme Building Partnerships for Impactful Human Trafficking Data. This conference brings together researchers, practitioners, law enforcement and governmental officials, nonprofit organizations, data scientists, and other stakeholders who value the quality, availability, and efficacy of human trafficking data.
Conference Presentations
Priority will be given to proposals from organizations/persons who did not previously have the opportunity to speak at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøHuman Trafficking Data Conference.
Each conference speaker will have 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for questions. The presentation should focus on four (4) elements:
- Your specific area expertise related to human trafficking data
- Strengths and weakness of human trafficking data in your area of expertise
- Effective strategies to increase human trafficking data efficacy in your area of expertise
- Opportunities for partnership building for future research, grant seeking, and other collaboration
Innovations Highlights
Each Innovation Highlight will include a 5-minute (maximum) recorded video highlighting:
- A specific area of human trafficking data expertise
- The innovation that this organization or researcher created that has/will improve human trafficking data efficacy
Priority will be given to Innovation Highlights that include opportunities for partnership building for future research, grant seeking, and other collaboration.
Presenters are urged not to:
- Use your presentation as a sales pitch for products or organizations.
- Put others at risk by inappropriately sharing their personal information.
- Deviate from the topic of human trafficking data unless including an appropriate comparison.
- Explicitly promote politics or agendas. We strive to tackle this issue from a bipartisan position.
