Eric Dickerson, an 51³Ô¹ÏÍølegend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, is one of football’s greatest running backs. The two-time All-American led SMU’s famed “Pony Express” and set the NFL single-season rushing record. Today he is an analyst, entrepreneur and philanthropist supporting youth through the Eric Dickerson Foundation.

Dickerson rose to national prominence at SMU, where he played from 1979 to 1982. He finished his collegiate career with 4,450 rushing yards and helped lead the Mustangs to a No. 2 national ranking in 1982. Known for his explosive speed and ability to break long touchdown runs, he became one of the most sought-after prospects in the 1983 NFL Draft. He was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Selected No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1983 NFL Draft, Dickerson made an immediate impact. He was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after rushing for 1,808 yards, which was an NFL rookie record. The following season he set the NFL single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards in 1984, a mark that still stands today.

Over an 11-year NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders and Atlanta Falcons, Dickerson earned six Pro Bowl selections, five First-Team All-Pro honors and the 1986 NFL rushing title. He finished his career with 13,259 rushing yards and 90 rushing touchdowns, ranking among the NFL’s all-time rushing leaders. Dickerson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.

Beyond football, Dickerson supports underserved youth through the ED29 Foundation and the Eric Dickerson Learning Center in Fort Worth. He is also an entrepreneur and NFL analyst on FOX Sports, where he shares insights into the game he helped define.

While Eric’s greatest legacy will always be his role as a proud father to Erica, Keri, and Dallis, his impact reaches even further.
