Chaplain Brigadier General Hiram “Doc” Jones (1937–2026)

Chaplain Brigadier General Hiram “Doc” Jones (M.Th. '63) of Montgomery, Texas, passed away March 10, 2026. A native of Madisonville, Texas, he earned degrees from Lon Morris College, Sam Houston State University and Perkins School of Theology, and later received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Wiley College. After six years in pastoral ministry, he entered the U.S. Air Force Chaplain Corps in 1969, serving in senior leadership roles including Command Chaplain for U.S. Air Force Europe and Air Force Combat Command and as Deputy Chief of Chaplains. Following his retirement in 1999, he continued in ministry as an associate pastor in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Annette, his daughter and his grandson. .

 

Glenna (Hardy) Steven (1940–2026)

Glenna (Hardy) Steven (M.Th. '74) of Perinton, New York, passed away March 16, 2026, at the age of 85. A graduate of SUNY Albany and Perkins School of Theology, she was a lifelong educator who served as a tutor and substitute teacher across several Monroe County school districts. Active in her faith communities, she was a devoted parishioner at the Church of St. Jerome in East Rochester and St. John of Rochester in Fairport. She is survived by her two children and extended family. .

 

Rev. Fred Hutchinson Arnold (1931–2026)

Rev. Fred Hutchinson Arnold (M.Div. '57) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away February 23, 2026, at the age of 94. The son of a Methodist minister, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College and his Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology before serving more than 50 years in United Methodist ministry. He pastored congregations across Arkansas and later served as District Superintendent of the Camden District, continuing to preach and share his musical gifts in retirement. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jane, his two children and two grandchildren. .

 

Bradford Lee Kisner (1952–2026)

Bradford Lee Kisner (M.S.M. '80) of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away January 10, 2026, at the age of 73. A graduate of Oklahoma State University and Perkins School of Theology, he devoted his life to music ministry as a pianist, organist and choral director. He served as Director of Music and Fine Arts at First United Methodist Church in Midland and later in Corpus Christi, where his ministry spanned more than two decades. An accomplished teacher and arts leader, he also served as an adjunct piano professor at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and held leadership roles in numerous music and arts organizations. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane, his children, six grandchildren and extended family. .
