DALLAS (SMU)— 51³Ô¹ÏÍøwill partner with neighborhoods throughout Dallas and thousands of communities nationwide Tuesday, Oct. 6, for the 32nd annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.

51³Ô¹ÏÍøNational Night Out will include carnival games, contests, safety demonstrations, a raffle and appearances by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøPolice Department, University Park Police and Fire Departments, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. 51³Ô¹ÏÍøstudents and campus-area neighbors are invited to attend. |

SMU’s local National Night Out is co-sponsored by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøPolice Department. The National Assoc/news/archives/2015/national-night-out-02oct2015/iation of Town Watch event will involve more than 16,000 communities from all 50 states. is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized, working together, and fighting back
