DALLAS (SMU) - On the heels of its second consecutive bowl berth and Conference USA Western Division Co-Championship, 51³Ô¹ÏÍøannounces its 2011 schedule.
51³Ô¹ÏÍøopens the season at former Southwest Conference rival Texas A&M on Sept. 3 before opening the home slate with a big C-USA Western Division match-up with UTEP on Sept. 10. The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøalum Bradley Dale Peveto-coached Northwestern State Demons then come to Dallas for a meeting with 51³Ô¹ÏÍøon Sept. 17.
The Mustangs will then enter a tough stretch with four of five games on the road, playing at Memphis (Sept. 24), at TCU (Oct. 1), at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøMiss (Oct. 22) and at Tulsa (Oct. 29), with only an Oct. 15th home rematch of the 2010 Conference USA Championship Game against UCF breaking up the road run.
The November slate features three of four games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium, as 51³Ô¹ÏÍøplays host to Tulane (Nov. 5), Navy (Nov. 12) and Rice (Nov. 26). SMU's final road contest comes on Nov. 19 when the Mustangs play at Houston, with the two squads having shared the C-USA Western Division Championship in back-to-back seasons.
The C-USA Championship game will then be played on Dec. 3.
Kickoff times will be set at a later date and game dates are subject to change for television.
