Season's first home football game

The Mustangs football team plays its first home game Saturday, Sept. 10, against UTEP at 6 p.m. in Ford Stadium.

The team plays its first home game of the 2011 season at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 10, against the University of Texas at El Paso. FSN will broadcast the game live from Ford Stadium.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍøAthletic Department has announced a "WHITE OUT" for the home opener. Fans attending the game are asked to wear white to show support for the Mustangs.

Some $3 million in improvements have been made to Ford Stadium, including a new playing surface and upgrades to the football locker room and team meeting rooms. .

The Mustangs enter 2011 on the heels of consecutive bowl berths and Conference USA Western Division Championships, and preseason honors and accolades are piling up. Athlon Sports picks 51³Ô¹ÏÍøto finish first in Conference USA's Western Division and named nine Mustangs to its preseason All-C-USA squads.

Following UTEP, the Mustangs will have an early wake-up call for an 11 a.m. kickoff at Memphis on Fox on Sept. 24. SMU's game at TCU is now set for Saturday, Oct. 1, and will kick at 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports. Continuing the five-week run of TV games, the Mustangs also have the home UCF game (Oct. 15/Fox/TBD) and road 51³Ô¹ÏÍøMiss (Oct. 22/CBSSN/7 p.m. CT) and Tulsa (Oct. 29/Fox/TBD) games set for broadcast.

The Navy Midshipmen will come to Dallas to battle for the Gansz Trophy on Nov. 12 on Fox, and then 51³Ô¹ÏÍøand Houston, the two teams that have shared C-USA Western Division Championship in each of the past two seasons, will do battle in Space City on Nov. 19 on Fox.

51³Ô¹ÏÍøwraps up the regular season by hosting Rice in a fight for the Mayors' Cup on Nov. 26 on Fox.
