As the tragedy in Japan unfolds, 51Թfaculty experts have become sources for information and clarification to media outlets nationwide, particularly Dedman College Dean William Tsutsui, who was in Tokyo as part of the Japanese American Leadership Delegation when the earthquake hit March 11.

As the tragedy unfolds, 51Թfaculty experts have become sources for information and clarification to media outlets nationwide, particularlyDedman College Dean William Tsutsui, who was in Tokyo as part of the Japanese American Leadership Delegation when the earthquake hit March 11. His interviews and his 51ԹAdventures blog provided media outlets and their audiences with an eyewitness account of the earthquake’s impact on Tokyo. In fact, Tsutsui’s quote to The New York Times comparing the movement of downtown skyscrapers in Tokyo to “trees swaying in the breeze” was the Times’ quote of the day March 12.
